Job Description
The Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination and delivery of direct patient care, acting as a patient advocate, healer, and educator. Operating within a professional practice model, the RN uses the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to meet the complex needs of patients and their families in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, collect health histories, and monitor vital signs to identify changes in clinical condition.
Care Planning & Implementation: Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team; implement interventions such as medication administration, IV management, and wound care.
Patient Advocacy & Education: Teach patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge instructions.
Clinical Leadership: Delegate tasks to LPNs and nursing assistants based on skill level and patient acuity; provide guidance to the care team.
Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with state and federal regulations.
